Dog Boarding
The kennel is equipped with 34 large dog runs that are 6' x 3' on the inside. The small dog room has 12 areas for your small pet that are 2’6" x 2’6" x 2’6".
Your Best Friends staff rotates the dogs in one of our four exercise yards. Dogs are let out at least 10 times each day. (If your dog is a fence climber or jumper, please notify staff at check-in). Your Best Friends policy is to NOT MIX dogs from different families. Your pet will be outside approximately 10-15 minutes at a time. Our yards have shade for summer protection.
The exercise yards have wood chips replenished every 3 months, keeping them fresh and clean. The kennel has radiant heat for the winter months and a swamp cooler for the summer. We keep the kennel between 68 & 72 degrees year-round. Runs are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected every morning and when our guests check out.
You may bring your own bed/bedding. (Please make sure the bed/bedding has just been washed and is clean). Toys are optional. Please only bring 1-2. Usually, the Dogs are more intrigued with the other Dogs and our staff.
Treats are not necessary but fine to bring. We pass out a lot of treats. If you would like your pet to have rawhide bones, please bring your own.
Your Best Friends would prefer to use our bowls, unless your pet needs elevated bowls. We feed NutriSource diets at Your Best Friends at no additional cost. We use NutriSource Lamb & Rice, Chicken & Rice or NutriSource Grain-Free Heartland Select formulas. You are welcome to bring your Dog's regular food. (If you bring your own food, please bring it in a sealed container or zip lock; original bags are not allowed by PACFA).
Cat Boarding
Your Best Friends has 12 cat condos; they are 2 tier Condo’s measuring 3’ x 3’ x 3’ with an upper level for a rest area; the lower level has space for food and water and a litter box. Each Condo is thoroughly cleaned each morning.
We feed NutriSource Cat / Kitten meal at Your Best Friends at no additional cost. You are welcome to bring your Cat’s regular food. (If you bring your own food, please bring it in a sealed container, no original bags).
Medications
If your pet is on a prescribed medication, please bring in the original container with the veterinarian's instructions on administering the Medication. Your Best Friends does NOT charge for administering medications; it is the owner’s responsibility to make sure all Medications are properly labeled.
We are highly recommended by veterinarians throughout the Grand Valley. We pride ourselves on being one of the VERY cleanest, MOST responsible kennels that provide a lot of LOVE to “Your Best Friend” while you are away. Ask a regular client of ours - they will tell you how their dog(s) get excited the minute they turn the corner heading to the kennel!
